Councillor Darren Paffey is the Deputy Leader of Southampton City Council, Cabinet Member for Children & Learning and ward Councillor for Bargate. He has policy interests in education, skills development, children’s safeguarding and seeing public, private, and voluntary sectors cooperate to tackle inequalities.
Outside of politics, Cllr Paffey lectures in Spanish and Linguistics at the University of Southampton, where he also researches political media discourse. He has worked extensively in Latin America to establish student exchange and research links.
