About BCP

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole is the coastline of opportunity.

Home to a thriving £10bn economy and a population of around 400,000 the BCP region is backed by the tenth largest urban local authority in England – BCP Council – and is driving forward a multi-billion-pound investment portfolio with a gross development value of more than £2.8bn across 14 regeneration sites, including the south west’s largest brownfield site at Holes Bay in Poole Harbour.

This gateway to the Central South and South West is home to a rich engineering and advanced manufacturing sector, and we have the largest financial sector outside London, represented by global financial services companies. The Port of Poole and Bournemouth International Airport provide access for an increasing amount of freight and growing passenger numbers.

15 miles of south-facing sandy beaches and 19 Sites of Special Scientific Interest make up nearly 1/5th of the area as well as the second largest natural harbour in the world. Added to this is a rich cultural offer, with five Arts Council National Portfolio Organisations and a depth of grassroots talent, and a range of sporting prowess including AFC Bournemouth.  The three universities, college and international education establishments provide fantastic opportunities for life-long learning.
