Conservative party conference fringe event – Impactful Investing

Audience for Key Cities Fringe event held in 2022
October 2, 2023 2:45 pm to 3:45 pm
Manchester Central – inside the secure zone
Private sector investment is one of the key ingredients for thriving cities. Across the country, city leaders are building partnerships with investors to regenerate urban centres, build new homes and offices, and turn net zero ambitions into reality.

Key Cities will be holding a fringe event with Core Cities looking at unlocking private investment for regeneration and net zero sustainability. The fringe will be hosted by Onward.

This panel will discuss what good public-private partnerships look like, and how to unlock the potential of our cities without relying entirely on public funds.

Speakers:

  • Andy Street, Mayor of the West Midlands
  • John Stevenson MP, Co-chair of Key Cities APPG
  • Tracey Blackwell, Chief Executive of Pension Insurance Corporation (invited)
  • Bev Craig, Leader of Manchester City Council
  • Cllr Jim O’Boyle, Cabinet Member for Jobs, Regeneration and Climate Change, Coventry City Council
